LFPWD – VALUABLE COMMUNITY RESOURCE

As residents in Lake Forest Park Water District you should be aware of our unique resource that provides local, naturally clean water. As early as 1918 there were wells drilled in the McKinnon Wellfield to provide water to early inhabitants. In 1926 a private company, LFP Water Company, was formed to take over supply of water to local residents and in 1954 the system was incorporated into our current Water District. In 1961 the Town of Lake Forest Park was incorporated. The LFPWD district boundary approximates the original boundary of the Town of Lake Forest Park. About one third of current City of Lake Forest Park residents are LFPWD water customers. We do have LFP residents from surrounding water districts who prefer non-chlorinated water and bring bottles and fill them for their drinking water.
